Electrical Distribution System (EDS) are responsible for developing the technical solutions for the physical implementation of the electrical distribution system, the wiring harness and the wiring components, in all vehicle lines within Volvo Cars. EDS components and CAE are responsible for components included in the wiring harness deliveries such as distribution boxes, cable channels and connectors, including the inlets for HV vehicles. They are also responsible for the CAE tools used by EDS' suppliers and for CAE support.

As a Lead Engineer Connectors your main responsibility will be waterproof connectors and connectors used for engine components. As lead engineer, you will lead the work to find new connector solutions in these areas and be responsible for the supplier contacts. You will investigate that the new connectors are according to Volvo requirements before handling the release process. You will also participate in analysis of quality issues and help find solutions for connector problems. As lead engineer for connectors, you will develop a unique competence in the growing technical area for autonomous drive and hybrid cars. You will get the opportunity to work with new solutions and gain a large network of people from different countries and suppliers.

Main responsibilities

* Lead the work in finding new connector solutions to use in new vehicle projects and to solve quality issues.
* Handle the release process for new connectors
* Keep contact with purchasing and EDS project responsible regarding timings and technical updates
* Keep contact with suppliers
* Update component database

* Update specifications and keep track of new requirements that affects the connector solutions

Required qualifications

* University degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
* Well versed in Volvo Cars product development process
* Fluent in English, written and spoken
* Driver's license
* KDP experience is highly valued
* Teamcenter experience is an asset
* EDS work experience is meritorious
* CHS experience is meritorious

Personal qualities

* Good communication skills
* The ability to cooperate and work within a team
* Structured with high analytical skills
