Who are you?
We’re searching for a persons that is passionate for mechanical engineering. You needs to be autonomous and enjoy to be in the fore front of different tasks. The person should enjoy puzzles, detective work and team work to find best solutions for the complete installation. You will belong to the Chassis Department within Volvo Group Trucks Technology. Our team is responsible for product updates of Volvo heavy duty range as FM/FH in the area of Cooling system routing. We carry out our work in all stages of product development: Complete Vehicle Projects, Product Maintenance, Advanced Engineering and Component Projects. You will work in close cross-functional cooperation in a multi-cultural environment with both internal and external contacts such as our different development sites around the world.


Your mission as Lead Engineer


Your mission will be as Lead Engineer with product responsibility for maintenance and new development within Chassis Engineering. This task will include Strategic work, creating technical roadmaps as well as responsibility for deliveries and reporting towards projects, suppliers, production, quality, aftermarket etc.


The role includes design work, requirement setting, documentation, validation and verification of the installation for the cooling routing system. Main design work tools are CAD, Microsoft office and Volvo documentation systems. Moreover, a bigger part of your work is leading, motivating and coordinating the product development activities for your area in one or several projects, together with different stakeholders and design engineers.


The main design area is to install various components needed for engine cooling systems. The work contains a lot of packaging. The work will be carried out in all phases, from start cost to maintenance. Several new innovative projects are starting up were new installations is needed.


Qualifications:
Leadership skills
Communication skills driving agenda with several commodities
preferably a degree in Mechanical Engineer or equivalent
Several years of working experience as an engineer within automotive engineering
Experience in design of cooling system
Experience in CAD
English proficiency
