Lead Engineer for engine controls

Lead Engineer for engine controls

Arbetsbeskrivning

Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

About us

The Lead Engineering team has the responsibility for Engine Controls products during development. We interact closely with all customers of the Scania Powertrain and together define our future product. As part of our team, you will play an important role in shaping the next powertrain. Together we handle all internal and external customers, ranging from Scania and Power Solutions in Södertälje to customers all around the world like MAN, Navistar and what may come in the future.

Your role

As Lead Engineer, you will have a central role within the department and are the contact between our development organization and our customers. In the early phases of development projects, you will have the main responsibility to find a common consensus regarding technical concepts and product requirements. Together with the engine controls management team you will define cross-functional concepts and clarify requirements that enable our organization to efficiently develop the right technology for our customers.

Our team is also responsible for the department’s Technical Road Map and another task for the Lead Engineer is to make sure that the department has the right focus for the future and that it matches our customers' views as well. We also align the Road Map with the other departments within Powertrain development at Scania and our partner brands.

Your profile

You are a graduate engineer with experience in embedded systems or engine/after-treatment development or a role as a leader in technical development. We value experience within system development and architecture, overall powertrain knowledge and Scania organization and processes. The Lead Engineer role is a leading role with many connections internally and externally and will help you grow a large network within the global engine control community and enhance your competence as a technical leader.

As Lead Engineer, you plan and lead the work, often in a challenging international environment, with sometimes conflicting objectives and requirements, which over time will further grow your skills as a positive, organized, driven, and goal-oriented leader.

You are fluent in both written and spoken English

We offer

We offer an interesting and challenging job within a small and tight team where there is plenty of scope for new ideas. The role has high management attention and you will actively be forming the future of Scania Powertrains. The close presence in the global powertrain development arena will give you many valuable lessons and experiences of different cultures and ways of working. The role will give you the opportunity to work in a stimulating and developing environment.

As an employee at Scania, we offer benefits such as an option to sign an agreement employee car, performance bonus, flexible working hours, lunch at reduced price and much more. If you live in Stockholm, we offer a direct bus service between Stockholm and Södertälje with Scania Jobexpress.
