Lead Engineer, Mechanical Engineering

At our site in Eskilstuna we are responsible for development and improvement of Attachments and Special applications for Wheel Loaders.

Example of responsibility areas within attachments are all type of buckets, timber grapples, fork attachments, and attachment brackets. We also provide engineering support for special application Wheel Loaders to suit specific customer demands in a short lead time.

In order to strengthen the department's competence and capacity to meet the future requirements we are now searching for a: Lead Engineer

Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Support ME operational deliveries within AE, NPD and PM
- Facilitate planning and strategy realization i.e. CAST, Materials, DoE roadmap
- Map competence need and mitigate gaps
- Facilitate, drive and implement common processes and guidelines on site
- Secure the use of Volvo Standards and common design guidelines
- Develop Emerging Market Engineering (EME) co-operation
- Review, develop and train EME engagement
- Lead and participate in AE projects and investigations
- Be the speaking partner into ME global organization regarding processes and guidelines
- Role-model The Volvo Way

Since most of the projects are done in cross functional teams, good communicative skills and ability to work in teams is a must.

We believe you have the following qualifications:
- B.Sc. Engineering or equivalent, Master's degree preferred
- Knowledge and experience of product development in automotive or Off-Road industry
- Leadership experience
- Excellent knowledge in Structural parts, Heavy weldments, castings, bearings
- Knowledge in project management
- You have the ability to easily communicate in English both spoken and written
