TATA Technologies Nordics AB is now looking for a Lead engineer within experience within Brake and Steering systems domain and more specifically with experience from design and development of components within steering system.
As a Lead engineer at Tata Technologies you will be a part of our Mechanical engineering department in a team of professional individuals from different parts of the world. We do work both inhouse in project teams and onsite at our client’s facilities. For this requirement you will be part of one of our inhouse projects.
Your main responsibility is to lead the design and development in a cross functional team for the components or subsystems for which you will be responsible. This is done in cooperation with other teams and stakeholders at the customer site as well as with supplier(s). You will actively drive and lead the development to fulfil given targets in terms of cost, timing, delivery and quality. To your help you will have a team of dedicated colleagues supporting the client from both Gothenburg and from our India office in Pune.
The team also handles quality issues, running changes and model year updates. Everything in close collaboration with our customer’s suppliers. The team responsibility ranges from concept phase with setting of specification to securing a high-quality industrialization to maintaining the current solutions. Focusing on Safety, Quality and Cost.
Main Responsibilities:
Develop and continuously improve the quality of the steering according to our customer’s procedures.
Follow the technical/logical Plan for the competence area.
Together with system architects and attribute team draw up specifications and requirements for the component and communicate them to potential suppliers with proper documentation.
Work in close collaboration with Attribute leaders (safety, vehicle dynamics, etc.), Manufacturing, External Suppliers, etc.
Define test plans and review test results for Steering feel, DV-testing etc.
Securing part structure and keep all systems updated with latest and correct data.
Attend and support team ceremonies.
Ensure the work is delivered as per specified acceptance criteria and definition


Your background:
Bachelor Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Work experience within steering area and steering components (seniority)
Experience in concept phase development and/or industrialization phase development in automotive industry.
Project management
Supplier Management
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Self-organizing
Knowledge in following system: KDP, Pecca procost, VPC, VIRA, TcE
Fully knowledgeable and able to work independently in Product Development Processes, Systems and Tools and according to agile way of working.

Open minded with a “can do” mentality, structured and able to work independently as well as contribute to the team by working cross-functionally.
You should be systematic, thorough but also capable to adapt in a quick moving environment where the prerequisites can change on short notice.
Ability to keep many tasks running in parallel.
Transparent, knowledge sharing and willing to learn new things.
