What we offer
Connected Experience unit within R&D includes Connectivity and Car Cloud Platform, Infotainment Platform, Applications and Data & Diagnostics. Our vision and strategy are to maximize the attractiveness of owning and using a Volvo, make all cars connected and provide a continuously enhanced experience for both new and existing cars. The ART Connectivity Platform within the Department Connectivity and Car Cloud Platform is responsible for delivering Global Connectivity as a service – E2E including HW, SW and Mobile Network Services. The platform we provide is the prerequisite for all connected applications and services within the vehicle.

What you’ll do
Your purpose as a lead engineer, together with your colleagues in your agile team and the product owner, is to provide stepwise (business) value to the larger solutions/systems (via the Agile Release Train - ART). You will, as lead engineer, handle Volvo Cars administrative tools needed for release of SW. You will interact with suppliers and Agile Teams within the ART and Solution and interface with procurement. We also expect you to have an interest in the technology we work with and provide new ideas to continuously improve our processes and ways-of-working.

For you to fully enjoy this opportunity, we believe you embrace teamwork, collaboration, are structured and are eager to learn and develop new competences. It is meriting to have worked closely with suppliers and having basic knowledge about vehicle platform architecture and basic knowledge of telecom industry is an advantage to succeed in this role, but if that is not the case, we will help you to succeed if you have the right mindset.
We see that you have a B.Sc or M.Sc. of Science in technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent.

Preferred skills and qualifications:
• Excellent communication skills in English both in speech and writing since you will be working in a very distributed surrounding.
• Familiar with Product and project development processes within Automotive industries.
• Good software development skill and skills for enabling test automation and continuously releasing and deploying of SW.
• Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery / Automated testing
• Knowledge of distributed electrical systems and electrical architecture
• Professional experience or hobby project with C/C++, Python in a Linux environment is considered a plus.
