For our office in Bohus, Sweden, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer who can fulfill the the requirements outlined below.
Responsibilities
Participate in large multi discipline projects and/or lead projects within own discipline (scope-budget-time-quality) in any major project driven by the engineering organization. Reports to Project Manager in multi discipline projects
Apply to all local HSE&S rules on site and AkzoNobel guidelines
Based on customer demands,defines project scope for own discipline, lead decision taking, manage uncertainties and expectations with stakeholders
Perform basic and conceptual Mechanical design in projects including:
- Calculations, sizing of equipment and piping
- Preparation of Technical Specifications, Functional Descriptions of Mechanical equipment and/or Package Units in coordination with Process and relevant Design engineering disciplines
Prepare a time table for the work
Perform cost estimation of equipment in studies, pre- and investment projects (detailed engineering and construction)
Perform technical evaluation of quotations
Participate in safety analysis and other HSE activities
Participate as Mechanical (Responsible) Engineer at commissioning and start-up of plants
Carry out training of the customer's operations and maintenance employees
Perform technical service to customer / trouble shooting
Document activities performed on process and design engineering work including documentation to customer
Has a primary drive to improve and to standardize the mechanical engineering process and strives for functional excellence continuously
Requirements
Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Piping and/or Equipment)
Minimum 6 years of experience with relevant design engineering processes and projects, start up and commissioning of plants
Ability to travel 50-100 days/yr
Thorough knowledge on design engineering and relevant tools
Experience from chemical plant projects, R&D or manufacturing
Skills in risk assessment
Good knowledge in English (written and spoken)
