Job Description
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora™ is a first person, action-adventure game developed by Massive Entertainment – a Ubisoft studio in collaboration with Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney. Built using the latest iteration of the Snowdrop engine, and developed exclusively for the new generation of consoles and PC, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora brings to life the alluring world of Pandora with all of its beauty and danger in an immersive, open world experience.
As a Lead Online Programmer, you will supervise a team of four motivated online programmers and improve the development of online features. Your responsibility will be to ensure new features and systems meet high performance requirements and match the project’s C++ code style. You will write, and assist your team to write, clean, maintainable, portable code with the goal of bringing the best online experience to our players. As the lead you will also handle the HR aspects within your team by i.e. reoccurring performance feedback and salary review.

What you’ll do
Design and implement performant online services with focus on security, scalability & reliability
Ensuring quality and efficiency for the code, the tools and the over-all process
Encouraging and maintaining an honest and open feedback culture
Organizing work and backlog using project management/ planning tools i.e. Jira
Plan and perform load tests, as well as evaluate the results to suggest changes and improvements.
Qualifications
What you’ll bring
We are looking for a well-organized senior online programmer who find the growth of the team important. You can review and give feedback in a clear and constructive manner and it is beneficial if you know how to handle different situations, such as salary-review as well as topics like personal- and professional development. You are comfortable working in an international environment, have good communication skills in English, and aligned with our core values. We would also like to see that you have the following skills and experiences:
Professional experience of working with C++, including package management, refactoring, optimization, debugging and testing
Experience from some of the big cloud service providers such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure
Knowledge of database design & programming, with focus on PostgreSQL
Network programming experience
Beneficial if you have:
Knowledge of the pitfalls and key learnings of motivating a team forward
Experience using Google Cloud Platform, which is the cloud platform used by the project
Knowledge of console and online games development
