About the position
As Lead Optimizer/Trader for Forward Power you will be a part of our team Commodity Front Office. The team of 12 traders is E.ON Nordic's wholesale energy trading and optimization team located in Malmö. We are responsible for sourcing of power, gas, biogas, guarantees of origin, electricity certificates and emission rights. Our primary task is to optimize the procurement of our customers' demand and manage the associated financial risks in both short-term markets and forward markets. This is a unit with a clear ambition to excel in what we deliver and to constantly adapt to be ahead of market development.
As Lead Optimizer/Trader responsible for Forward Power your main responsibility is to optimize the hedging of the aggregated forward power exposure in cooperation with your colleagues. Superior skills in hedge optimization and a deep understanding of the behavior of the power forward curves for Nordic system price and price areas are required for the role.
Market access as a trader, both for power and other commodities, is included in the role. Another important task is evaluation and implementation of new methods for hedging of the power exposure. In addition, you are involved in the development of tools within the business area, mainly digital and automated decision support.
Who we are looking for
To be successful in the role, you must have huge interest and comprehensive experience in trading and optimization in the Nordic power market. You base your decisions on facts and can easily build and analyze alternative scenarios, against which you evaluate your trading strategies. As a person, you like challenges and are passionate about problem solving.
We believe that you have a university degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering or economics. In addition, you are curious and strive to constantly learn more to achieve impressive results and develop yourself and your colleagues. We also believe that you, like us, are a team player who enjoys working and solving challenges together.
