For our Headquarters in Bad Homburg (Frankfurt area) we are searching for a: 

Lead Product Engineer

Responsibilities

- Leads product engineering activities and manages APQP requirements for product engineering
- Manages completion and documentation of engineering disciplines and design reviews, such as: DFMEA – PFMEA reviews; control plan reviews; change control documentation; PVP&R completion; open issues / action plans to address performance concerns; capabilities studies; dimensional stack completion and reviews; etc.
- Manages release of drawings, bills of materials.
- Manages completion of analytical and test validation plans.
- Prepares, tracks and manages product engineering (R&D) budget.
- Leads all customer interaction and communication for assigned projects.
- Collaborates with the Purchasing function and participates in supplier visits, selection, and capabilities assessment.
- Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure manufacturing and assembly capabilities are met. Completes drawing reviews and reaches consensus on requirements and specifications.
- Collaborates with the Quality function to prevent quality issues as well as supporting resolution of quality and warranty issues
- Completes benchmark activities as required to support ongoing process and product improvement activities
- Supports staffing, development, and performance management programs for engineering teams; manages, motivates, and develops project and team leaders.

Qualification

Education

- Minimum Bachelor degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred); Master degree preferred 

Experience

- Minimum of five years’ experience in a Technical / Product Development leadership position
- Strong skills in working with international teams
- Previous work experience in the Automotive industry required. Driveline background preferred.
- Familiar with all phases of the development of automotive products
- Knowledge of vehicle systems, components and their interaction
- Understanding of APQP processes including FMEA and PPAP
- Self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills
- Confident, reliable and competent representation on all levels; good organizational skills
- Good negotiation skills both internally and with customers
- English written/verbal communication skills required
- German written / verbal communication skills preferred
- Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Project, Outlook etc.)
- Must enjoy working with others and motivate, mentor/train his team
- Willingness to travel, average 20% of time expected. Must be able to travel internationally.
