Volvo Cars is on track to becoming the fastest transformer in the automotive industry. To accelerate our adoption of data-driven decisions, we are now taking additional steps towards a global and modern approach to data quality and stewardship. Volvo Cars is now looking to add a new leader to this change journey in R&D, being a key enabler for delivering freedom to move in a personal, sustainable, and safe way.
What you’ll do
As part key part of the central data and analytics enabling function, you will be leading data quality improvement and stewardship initiatives across R&D, acting as a change driver, guiding the organization hands-on in best practice.
You will also:
• Establish fit for purpose principles, guidelines and standards around data quality and stewardship for R&D
• Design, train and educate stakeholders and solution level Data Stewards in how to effectively manage data for trust in an agile way
• Drive adoption of our technology roadmap including data quality tools and frameworks, data catalogue and automated stewardship solutions
• Facilitate and lead the Data Steward network consisting of solution level Data Stewards, driving and developing the Data Steward function in R&D
• Actively be involved in the transformation of solutions areas in R&D regarding data awareness, data product and quality
• Actively attend and be the R&D spokesperson in community of practices (CoP) and governance forums
• Act as the liaison between R&D and other business areas, capturing and channeling new demands and requirements
You and your skills
We believe you have a relevant MSc degree, as well as several years of experience working with data and in leading roles focusing on process development and data management. You have experience from cross functional leadership and a successful record of achieving sustainable change in large organizations.
You will need experience and knowledge within areas such as data quality management, master data governance, information architecture, meta-data management, master data management and BI & analytics, as well as good understanding of business processes and challenges related to data in complex product development. You also need to be fluent in English, both spoken and written.
Great workshop facilitation and presentation skills, good understanding of data privacy regulations and data management risks related to cyber security, experience from automotive industry regarding data management and vehicle data creation, and experience from agile methodologies such as SAFe, Scum or Kanban is highly meritorious.
On a personal level, you are a great problem solver with a “can-do” attitude to cope with ambiguity in a high-paced global environment. With your excellent communication skills, you effortlessly network in the organization, build close relationships with stakeholders and you are comfortable with promoting change across all levels of the company. As we believe a team effort is the only way to be successful in reaching our ambitious targets, we are looking for a person that values collaboration and actively contributes to our collective development.
