Arbetsbeskrivning
Are you ready to make electrifying connections? Help us design sustainable transportation solutions for the future. As part of the Volvo Group Technology team, you’ll help us accelerate our journey by engineering exciting next-gen technologies with a global reach. Be part of our evolution as we strengthen our team. Bring your love of design engineering, working collaboratively, and your advanced skills to a place where you can make an impact. You’ll contribute to projects that determine new, sustainable solutions. Come and join Volvo Group and help leave society in good shape for the next generation.
You will
Develop and perform simulations on battery module, pack, and Energy Storage System (ESS) level for thermal and system performance. You need to have a background in CFD simulations (both 1D and 3D) to be successful. You will contribute to the development of the thermal performance of the battery pack. You will work in an environment where we have experts within thermal management, CAE, and CFD simulations. Working with both advanced CFD and system simulations is second nature to you if you are the right person for this role. You are someone who is excited about the opportunity to work in a global, multicultural work environment, with a big impact on the future of transportation and our collective carbon footprint. You will be part of an agile team who values creativity, analytical thinking, innovation capability, and the ability to apply knowledge. We need your expertise and mathematical brain. You will be encouraged to speak up! We want you to be heard.
Develop and perform CFD simulations on both component and battery pack level
Developing and performing electro-thermal simulations for Electrical Distribution System (EDS)
Perform system simulations to evaluate the impact on the battery and its attributes such as range, power performance, and thermal aspects
Initiate physical tests and analyze results for validation and verification of the simulation methods
Create technical documentation of the methods and reports of the analyses
Present the work to team members and stakeholders outside the team
Coordinate internal and external work with other departments, partners, and suppliers
How to succeed
You already have a genuine interest and curiosity in fluid dynamics and engineering. You show up as a communicative person who can easily plan, align, and focus on the most important things and highest priorities. You have a can-do attitude and like to deliver with a great outcome. You can create concepts and ideas and implement them without hesitation.
You are also
Innovative and hold a Master’s degree in engineering, with a focus on applied mechanics, thermal analyses, physics or similar education, or equivalent experience
Proven experience and fluency with at least 5 years of work experience with 3D/1D CFD simulations,
Familiar with essential tools and languages for daily work such as Star CCM+, ANSA, GT-SUITE, MATLAB Simulink, and Python scripting.
Experienced in thermo-fluid model development such as thermal management, AC systems, optimization, and DOE.
Truly engaged and committed simulation engineer. You are interested to learn and expand your skills, particularly in the area of battery technologies and how these effects battery thermal performance.
Interested and comfortable to work in an Agile way and collaborative decision making to get the best possible results
You also speak and write fluently in English.
What can we offer
We can offer you an exciting and global working environment which will give you valuable experience that will contribute to your future development within the Volvo Group.
