You will
Perform and lead crash simulation on Energy Storage System (ESS) systems and subsystems. You need strong analytical skills and will work in all development phases from concept to industrialization.
You will document, report and present the results of your simulations. You will be supporting the design engineers with continuous improvement. Taking on being a key person in developing and improving the evaluations methods and modelling for crash analysis. You will also initiate physical tests – analyze the results and validate the simulations methods.
You will contribute to the simulation team for crash with concern to the battery pack. Have deep knowledge in FE crash simulations (LS Dyna)
Be able to contribute your experience of method development and creative problem solving
Contribute without needing everything laid out for you, you are self driven and can take a high level perspective
Have good knowledge in pre- and post- processing in Ansa / Meta
Have demonstratable battery experience and know how
Perform simulations to evaluate the crash performance of the battery on module, pack and system levels, analyzing the result and present to the stakeholders
Correlate the simulation models against physical tests
Be able to work in all development phases, from concept to industrialization
Coordinate internal and external work with other departments and suppliers

How to succeed
You already have a genuine interest and curiosity in thermal analyses and engineering. You show up as a communicative person who can easily plan, align, and focus on the most important things and highest priorities. You have a can-do attitude and like to deliver with a great outcome. You can create concepts and ideas and implement them without hesitation.
You are also
Innovative and hold a Master’s of science degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
Proven experience and fluency with at least 10 years of work experience within the automotive industry working with crash simulations, preferably from both passenger and commercial vehicles
Having experience from early phase / concept work
Familiar with developing crash requirements.
Experienced with scripting in Python
Truly engaged and committed simulation engineer. Someone who is interested to learn and expand your skills, particularly in the area of battery technology
You also speak and write fluently in English.
