The Siting Solutions Department as part of the Technical Sales Management unit is responsible for turbine siting and optimisation, representing Vestas at relevant industry conferences/workshops as well as establishing and growing strategic relationships with engineering counterparts within Vestas key customers and influential third party consultants.
The Siting Solutions team is accountable for providing fully optimised wind power plant layouts and turbine configurations that satisfy both internal requirements, such as lifetime, warranty, loading, safety, contribution margin maximisation, as well as external requirements such as levelised cost of energy, finance ability and customer preferences.
Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities as a Siting Solutions Engineer will be to act as an outward-focused technical customer advisor ensuring the supply of fully optimized wind power plant layouts and wind turbine configurations on a bid/request for a project.
After an intensive induction, you will be assigned to Vestas' siting activities mainly in the North region (Scandinavian markets) and West region (UK and Ireland) as part of NCE (Northern & Central Europe).
Develop project-specific siting technical solutions to maximize project value while handling risks, and also develop tools and collaborate on projects utilizing siting data to create value
Utilize knowledge of Vestas turbines and regional wind conditions to provide expertise and support to internal and external stakeholders
Identify market requirements and trends to promote product, tool, and process development, and also develop and handle relationships with customers and their consultants
Enable efficient interfaces between Sales, Technical Sales, Customers, Independent Engineers, and Central Technical Functions
Ensure knowledge sharing and collaboration across regional and Global Siting teams through coaching, mentoring, open and effective communication, and feedback
Defend Vestas siting results and support customers efforts to finance Vestas turbines with third party consultants
Besides all the engineering aspects you´ll need to have impeccable customer service awareness.


Qualifications
This position requires minimum a bachelor's degree in Engineering, preference within Mechanical or Renewables Engineering
Mater Degree in sustainable energy or similar would be a benefit
Requires high level oral and written communication skills and good customer service skills to work with customers, consultants, and cross-functional teams
Requires solid investigative and methodical skills
Fluent in business English required additional Nordic languages would be a benefit.
Knowledge and skills in working with computers, software applications and coding would be a benefit
Minimum of 3 years of experience working on Wind projects
Experience with IEC standards for wind turbine design and completion of power performance testing.
Experience with operational performance assessments of wind and solar power plants, using WAsP, WindPro, OpenWind, CFD, or Mesoscale modelling for wind power applications



Additional:
Knowledge of the various market segments within the North Region (Scandinavian markets) and West region (UK and Ireland), the main business case drivers for each segment, and typical strategies used by the major names in the market.
Established within the network of customers, partners, and consultants in the above-mentioned regions
Experience completing financial analysis of proposed wind power and ancillary systems.
Experience supporting customer/ project negotiations
Great oral and written communication skills
Solid organizational skills, ability to maintain confidentiality

Additional information
The primary work location will be in one of our offices Malmö, SE; Edinburgh, UK; Dublin, IRE; Hamburg, DE; Aarhus/Videbaek, DK.
This position requires approximately 10-20% time for travel.
