Are you an experienced and curious Electrical & Electronics engineer with a passion for technical solutions? Do you like understanding and exploring new domains in product development and sharing your passion with your colleagues? Good, then continue reading, we have an opportunity for you.

What kind of challenge you might wonder?

The wind is changing within the automotive industry and current digital and connected solutions are constantly challenging us in how we develop and sell our products. It also pushes us to explore what’s outside of that comfortable and famous “box” in order to find solutions and opportunities that will shape the future of public transportation.
And it is in the middle of all this that Volvo Buses needs you. You, who are creative, driven and can lead and guide this development from the driver’s seat through collaboration, enthusiasm and passion.

This is us, your new colleagues

Our team currently consists of 15 engineers with different professional backgrounds, interests and history but with one common mindset: To develop our products and ourselves! With the sea as our closest neighbour, where a lunch walk along the seaside in Arendal is an energy boosting and relaxing activity, we gather every day to secure the quality and competitiveness of our products in a fast-evolving business.
In our group, we focus on the development of Vehicle Connectivity and Driver Environment. Having a global responsibility, the solutions developed within the team can be found in Volvo buses all over the world helping millions of people every day to reach their destination. Imagine that as a legacy!
In our global responsibility, we cooperate with our sites in Poland, Mexico and Brazil, as well as with our Volvo-owned brands Prevost and Nova in North America. Together, we secure knowledge transfer and competence development in an effort to become an even higher performing team consisting of highly passionate people.

What can we propose?

You will be a part of the Vehicle Connectivity & Driver Environment within the Electrical & Software Architecture Department. You will play an important role in the development of new functionality for our instrument cluster for both future and present transport solutions. You will work in an agile way, where you will be a member of a high performing cross functional team that covers functional development, Software design and Verification.
You and the team will be responsible for end-to-end solutions for the instrument cluster and take on a significant role in securing the competitiveness of our vehicles in this area.

And this is you

Becoming part of our team is easy. You just need to be a skilled team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills and to be genuinely interested in product development and learning new areas such as HMI or system design.
BSc or MSc degree in electrical/software engineering or equivalent is highly valuable as well as previous experience from Qt development in the automotive industry. Good understanding of complex systems. A solid network within Volvo Group and knowledge of our system and processes (QML, Qt, C++, Jira, GIT, TFS, System Weaver) is meritorious.
Since you have good engineering judgment and priorities, you have the ability and interest to technically support and challenge colleagues in their work and their mindset. You like to share your passion for technical solutions, test driven development and you have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. As a person you are positive, you display driving force, have a structured way of working and is eager to learn new skills and driven by self-development.

Are we the perfect match?

So how does this sound? Are you prepared to join us at Volvo Buses and be part of the company’s future? Why not pay us a visit here in Arendal for a coffee, a chat or maybe a walk along the seaside to discuss more what we can offer you!
