Who we are:
Technical Analysis & Supplier Warranty Recovery (TA&SWR) is a key group within Group Trucks Technology’s (GTT) Quality & Customer Satisfaction (Q&CS). Through our work and cross-functional collaboration, TA&SWR contributes to warranty spend reduction for our customers and in our supply base, thereby directly contributing to the Group Trucks Brands and Business Areas’ profitability and customer success. Through the warranty recovery process, we create incentives to improve product quality, and, through regularly conducted warranty material analyses (WMA), support continuous quality improvement and reducing negative impact on our Customers. We are a global team of skilled professionals operating in Gothenburg (Sweden), Lyon (France), Greensboro and Hagerstown (U.S.A.), and Curitiba (Brazil).

Our core activities include confirming technical responsibility and financial liability of component failure modes through our warranty material analysis process and negotiating costs and recovery with suppliers within our contractual frameworks. Our cross functional partners include, at all levels, Purchasing, Engineering, internal and external Legal Counsel, third party technical experts and Truck Brand’s Aftermarket organization.
As Lead Warranty Segment Leader, your focus will be to manage day-to-day supplier warranty recovery activities and act as a functional line manager for Senior Warranty Segment Leaders and Warranty Segment Leaders to improve supplier warranty performance through analysis and cost recovery, directly impacting Volvo’s financial results. Just as important, you will act as a mentor/coach to the team to support both business and personal development goals. Your success will play a critical role in connecting customer experience with our products back to multiple groups within the Volvo. You will also lead complex negotiations with suppliers in two core areas: 1) Contract management supporting Group Trucks Purchasing/Legal and 2) Warranty recovery through objective technical investigations and warranty contracts reviews. The job responsibilities also entail:
Analyze warranty cases occurring at dealer network, based on Warranty Claims, dealer quality reports (DQR) and market quality reports (MQR).
Consolidates parts/components failure modes through cross functional work, by supporting and/or leading Warranty Material Analysis, requesting and reviewing technical reports.
Defines technical ownership and development process root causes of failure modes considering project documentation: functional/technical specifications, risk analysis (e.g. FMEA), Product Application Agreement (PAA), Part handling reviews (PHR), development agreements etc.
Provide technical analysis feedback to Truck Brands’ in relation to warranty claim acceptance and/or repair process/instructions.
Represent GTT Warranty towards Project and cross functional teams.
As expert in Volvo’s Warranty process, you will support colleagues at Group Trucks Purchasing in contract negotiations with our suppliers.
Actively participate in standardization of the recovery process globally.
Who are you, our new colleague?
We are looking for a driven and innovative individual with a proven ability to work cross-functionally, strong communication skills, and a general interest in technology, technical analysis and data. Our team typically has a senior background in Supplier Quality Development, Purchasing, Engineering, or Project Management combined with a strong aptitude for negotiations. For this lead position, the perfect candidate would also have a functional and/or line management experience.
Other competence & experience we would wish for you to have:
MSc or MBA with interest in technology (alternatively BSc or BA with relevant experience).
Knowledge of quality management and problem-solving tools in projects (e.g. FMEA, RTS, PAA, PHR) and quality root cause analysis tool (e.g. 8D, Ishikawa).
Analytical abilities and aftermarket systems knowledge, knowledge of aftermarket tools is a plus.
In-depth knowledge in some technical areas (e.g. within electromobility) or truck application knowledge is a plus.
Legal and contractual understanding and associated impact on business decisions and negotiations.
Team player and capacity to lead cross-functional teams.
Drive for results and self-starter, feels comfortable working autonomously, learns on the fly.

The Lead Warranty Segment Leader reports to the Director Warranty Sweden and operates within a network of Lead Warranty Segment Leaders globally.
