We believe in the concept ‘hire for attitude and learn for skills’, because that is what counts in the end. We believe it is you and your personality that is the most important asset of all. And that’s the asset that will make our team succeed in the long run.

If you already have some experience from the automotive industry, then this could be a great next step for you. Do you share our passion about vehicle electronics, electrical architecture and software development, please read on!

JOB DESCRIPTION
You will be working in a small team of around six people that has the shared responsibility to develop the systems, components, software and functions connected to the driver's place, like the instrument cluster and infotainment unit. Some of the development is handled in-house, but the team works closely with both external suppliers and Volvo truck development teams as well.
Your area of expertise will be the overall system and architectural design of the responsibility area, handling both functionality, diagnostics and communication with other systems. There is room for taking on additional responsibilities as well, depending on your own skills and personality. You will also be part of the system design and architectural community here in Volvo Bus, sharing experience and ideas with system design engineers in other teams.
Most of the work here is done in the same systems being used in other parts of the Volvo Group, and the core one for this position is the system/module-based design tool, known as SystemWeaver or SE-tool.
Since Volvo Bus is a smaller company, we all work cross-functionally with broad responsibilities throughout the entire company, across many different departments and competence areas. This position will be no exception, coordinating yours and your teams’ work with the rest of the development teams here at Volvo Buses, will be important.
Long-term development for you within this role, could go towards more coordination and long-term planning, if this is your preference. Since we are growing within the electrical and software area, adapting both the technology and our ways of working to new standards, there will be possibilities to take on new challenges and responsibilities within the coming years.

THIS IS US, YOUR NEW COLLEAGUES
You will be part of a team where we encourage having fun at work and where we believe in the power of teamwork. Our department, Electrical and Software Architecture is a function within Global Product Development (GPD) at Volvo Buses that is responsible for integrating Volvo Group technology into our buses and develop bus unique solutions when needed. We are responsible to secure short- and long-term quality solutions on the electrical and software systems of the bus. In close cooperation with colleagues at different departments, we are supporting each other in reaching our mission in helping millions of travellers reaching their travel destination. All over the World. Every day.

THIS PROBABLY DEFINES YOU
It is meritorious to have earlier experience from within the Volvo Group, working with TEA2+ and bridge plan development. You should have experience in leading and participating in teams and development networks, coordinating work across different competences to reach the best concept decisions. We think that you have a BSc or MSc degree in mechatronics/electrical engineering or equivalent. You are a strong communicator with great networking skills, you are solution focused, eager to learn new skills and driven by self-development.
We believe it is the right mind-set that will make a difference within our organization and our company. If you see yourself as a person that is taking initiative, building networks and always learning new things, while thriving in a relaxed social environment, then we believe you have the right attitude to be successful in this position.

ARE WE A PERFECT MATCH?
The societies where many of us live would not function without the type of products and services that the Volvo Group provides. Like a circulatory system, our trucks, buses, engines, construction equipment and different, related services are involved in several of the functions that most of us rely on every day.

Do you want to be a part of something bigger? Would you like to help Volvo Bus take the next step in advancing our electronic architecture development? In addition, do you have a passion for teamwork, electronics and software development? Welcome to our team and Volvo Buses!
