The Position
As a Lead Developer within the Design System Team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction and technical implementation of our user interface framework. You will work with a small team of talented Front-End Developers, collaborating closely with the UI Platform team, Designers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to create robust, scalable, and reusable UI components and patterns. Your expertise in front-end development, particularly in React.js, React Native, Material-UI (MUI), and theming, will drive the evolution of our Design System and UI framework, ensuring consistency, performance, and maintainability across our web and react native applications.
Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of Front-End Developers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation. Lead by example through hands-on development and code reviews.
Design System Development: Drive the development and evolution of our Design System, including the design, implementation, and maintenance of reusable components, layouts, and theming solutions. Ensure alignment with industry best practices and emerging trends.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including UX/UI Designers, Product Managers, and Back-end Developers, to understand requirements, define technical solutions, and ensure seamless integration with backend systems.
Architectural Design: Contribute to the architectural design and technical roadmap of our front-end applications, advocating for scalable and maintainable solutions. Evaluate new technologies and frameworks to improve development efficiency and user experience.
Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and testing strategies to ensure high-quality and performant code. Conduct code reviews, automated testing, and performance optimization to maintain a high level of reliability and user satisfaction.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain technical documentation, guidelines, and patterns for the UI framework. Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and workshops to onboard new team members and promote continuous learning.

We who work in this team have a lot of fun, are great collaborators and we all consider ourselves as leaders of our work and owners of our results.
Furthermore, we offer a solid benefits package, flexible work arrangements, and possibilities to grow.

Your profile
Most important of all is your personality and desire to drive a concept and refinement work supporting our goals. We believe that you have a university degree in a relevant field and several years of experience in complex front-end development. You will encounter challenges and complexities daily. The ability to approach problems analytically, break them down into manageable components, and devise creative solutions is crucial.
Experience in the automotive industry is considered beneficial, as well as experience within a field close to or within front-end development frameworks and tools. We think you have great knowledge and ability to create and present concepts and new ideas, both for technical specialists and people without technical knowledge.
You hold a valid work permit for Sweden, if not an EU citizen. Fluent in English – both written and spoken.
