Expansive Worlds is a creative division of Avalanche Studios Group and a leading developer and publisher of outdoor games. Since 2009, Expansive Worlds has been devoted to delivering highly immersive outdoor gaming experiences for millions of players and best known for the long-standing and successful theHunter franchise.
We are now looking for a Lead UX Designer to work with an unannounced title.
The Position
Avalanche Studios are currently looking for a Lead UX Designer to work on an unannounced title currently in development. We are searching for developers with a background in games or that has a strong understanding of web design technologies and has a fanatical devotion to designing intuitive user experiences.
Leading the UX design you will also help to develop a strong UI experience for the player that will not only be intuitive but have enough forward thinking to support our future plans post launch. You will work closely with the Game Design supporting them with advice and guidance in UX best practices.
Required Qualifications
- UX/UI design experience on at least one published PC / console / mobile game
- Scripting ability with knowledge in JavaScript or similar languages
- Thorough knowledge of flow / function / form and UI progression
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative outlook
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with Coherent
- Experience with wireframing / prototyping tools such as Sketch or Axure
- Strong Photoshop skills
- UX/UI design qualifications or training
- A knowledge of open-world games
