Lead UX Designer
Volvo Cars is on an ambitious journey to redefine what it means to learn about and shop for our products across our digital touch points. We are looking for our lead UX designer to guide a team that creates great experiences; turning customer insights into impactful business solutions and great customer journeys. The Lead UX designer will focus on developing design strategies for Volvo’s Web and eCommerce team , which is exploring new ways people will shop for cars. You will work with teams focused on delivering Volvo's front door, Volvocars.com which is present in 113 countries globally. You will create the entry of our eCommerce experience and create a digital experience worthy of a luxury brand.
Main responsibilities include:
* Deliver product strategies and high-level designs based on customer insights and business needs.
* Deliver key design artifacts such as user flows, wireframes, and prototypes that balance design aesthetics with intuitive functionality.
* Develop a deep understanding of our customer needs and pain-points, serving as an expert for your product team and develop ideas for new and enhanced features.
* Communicating designs, ideas, and rationale with your team using data and customer insights.
* Pro-actively work with partners across the company to understand and collect customer and business insights.
* Collaborate with other designers and ensure a seamless customer experience across Volvo’s digital landscape.
* Be an internal thought-leader on user experience best practices and trends.
Who you are:
* You’ve been designing for 8+ years for a consumer-focused ecommerce company, so you understand what it takes to create elegant, consumer-oriented experiences.
* You are a versatile designer who uses a full range of skills—product design, interaction design, service design and visual design — to ensure you deliver magical experiences to the customer.
* You are a strategic thinker, and look for ways of simplifying the experiences for the customer across a broad spectrum of touch-points.
* You’re a strong communicator. Who can inspire teams towards action and empathy for the user.
* You are a strong collaborator, who can work with not only design parterns, but many other stakeholders from marketing to engineering.
* You have a people-focused design mentality. Constantly looking to hone your design instinct through user feedback. Whether that’s hands-on user research or a quantitative A/B test.
