The University of Gothenburg tackles society’s challenges with diverse knowledge. 56 000 students and 6 600 employees make the university a large and inspiring place to work and study. Strong research and attractive study programmes attract researchers and students from around the world. With new knowledge and new perspectives, the University contributes to a better future.
At the Institute of Biomedicine, the scientific focus is in understanding the fundamental aspects of the cells of the body —what they consist of, how they function, how their behaviour is governed by genetics, and how they interact with various types of microorganisms. With this knowledge, we strive to elucidate the causes of different disease states and discover new opportunities for diagnosis and treatment. For more information about the Institute's activities, visit our website: Biomedicine at the University of Gothenburg.
Medical education is a crucial part of the Institute of Biomedicine’s educational responsibility. The Institute is in charge of term 1, term 3, and term 5. Term 1 includes an overview of anatomy integrated with histology, while term 3 covers clinical anatomy.
