The School of Information Technology
Halmstad University consists of four interdisciplinary Schools and the current position is located at the School of Information Technology (https://hh.se/ite-en). https://hh.se/ite-en is a multicultural school with around 130 employees from 20 different countries. Description
At the Department of Computing and Electronics for Real-Time and Embedded Systems (https://hh.se/ceres-en), we are seeking a lecturer (universitetsadjunkt) in computer science or a closely related area. The candidate should be able to contribute to research projects and take full responsibility for significant parts of the teaching at the department.
Duties include conducting research in cybersecurity-related projects and teaching both practical and theoretical courses at the bachelor’s and master’s levels in computer science. The candidate is expected to drive the development of courses and independently administer and run them. Specific courses that need staffing are within existing educational programs, mainly courses in Algorithms and Data Structures and master’s theses in Network Forensics. Depending on the applicant’s interest, there is also a significant need for development in commissioned training courses. Topics include OSINT (Open-source Intelligence), KCB (Complex Cybercrime), Python for Forensics, and Cybersecurity for Operations Technicians.
Qualification
To be eligible for employment as a university lecturer, one must have an advanced degree and demonstrated teaching proficiency.
Teaching proficiency includes:
- Documented experience in teaching the subject
- Proven skill through experience with various teaching methods
- Experience in educational development work
The quality of teaching experience is the primary criterion, but the extent of teaching experience is also important.
For employment as a university lecturer, completed training in higher education pedagogy is required, or the applicant must have acquired equivalent knowledge in another way or commit to undergoing higher education pedagogy training.
Fluency in English is required for this position.
Strong merits include
- Previous research experience, e.g., at the level of a PhD degree.
- Previous experience in teaching and developing practical lessons in the field.
- Proven interest in the field.
- Proven ability to work with people from different disciplines, both in academia and industry.
- Spoken Swedish or experience from the Swedish higher education system.
You need to be able to work in a structured way and plan for the long term, both independently and with the rest of the team. You must be willing to take responsibility for development processes, as the field since cyber security is constantly evolving.
Proven experience in leadership, administrative skills and interaction with the wider community is an asset.
Salary
Salary is to be settled by negotiation. The application should include a statement of the salary level required by the candidate.
The employment is a permanent employment and can begin with a probationary period.
