The School of Information Technology
Halmstad University consists of four interdisciplinary Schools and the current position is located at the School of Information Technology (ITE). ITE is a multicultural school with around 130 employees from 20 different countries. It is a strong research and education environment, with focus on smart technology and its applications. Students and researchers are working with everything from AI and information driven care to autonomous vehicles, social robotics and digital design. ITE offers education on all levels, from undergraduate to PhD education, plus education for professional. Research is conducted within aware intelligent systems, smart electronic systems, cyber physical systems and digital service innovation. These four areas constitute the four technology areas of ITE . An innovation centre for information driven care called Leap for Life is connected to ITE, as well as a collaboration arena for electronic development, Electronics Centre in Halmstad (ECH).

Background
We are looking for a committed and competent individual to fill the role of teacher and collaboration manager in computer technology, robotics and mechatronics. As part of our team, you will have varied tasks in teaching, collaboration and administration.
We offer a dynamic work environment where you have the opportunity to influence and shape the education and learning environments in computer engineering, robotics and mechatronics. You will work with students, the University and industry to create meaningful collaborations.
Description
The tasks are mainly teaching, collaboration and administration. Teaching will be in computer technology, robotics and mechatronics. Examples of courses where resources are needed are Digital and Computer Technology, Edge Computing and Internet of Things, and Design of Embedded and Intelligent Systems.
The collaboration assignment consists mainly of acting as a contact point between industry and the University and building a network for workplace-based education and degree projects.
Depending on the applicant's experience, the position includes the assignment as program manager for https://www.hh.se/utbildning/program/mekatronikingenjor.html. As program manager, you will take responsibility for program development and collaboration with students and surrounding communities to profile the program.
QualificationQualified to be employed as a university lecturer are those who have a degree at second-cycle level and have demonstrated teaching skills.
Teaching skills means:
- documented experience of teaching in the subject
- good skills demonstrated through experience of different forms of teaching
- experience of pedagogical development work
It is primarily the quality to be assessed, but the extent of pedagogical experience is also important.
For employment as a university lecturer, the applicant must have completed a course in higher education pedagogy, have acquired equivalent knowledge in some other way, or undertake to complete a course in higher education pedagogy.
For employment, proficiency in spoken and written English at a professional level is required. Skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, at a level that enables them to teach in Swedish with ease are meritorious.
We would like the applicant to have previous experience of collaborative work at the interface between industry and research universities or institutes.
A strong advantage is previous experience of program development and experience of supervising students in thesis work. Previous experience of teaching in computer technology, robotics and mechatronics-related subjects is an advantage.
