Södertörn högskola is an equal opportunities employer.We are now inviting applications for the post of: Lecturer in Media Technology with a specialisation in programming Ref.No.dnr 287/22/2008 Media Technology is a multidisciplinary discipline that is expanding rapidly within the School of Communication, Technology and Design.The discipline was established at Södertörns högskola in 2001 and is now one of the largest environments in Sweden for teaching and research into Media Technology.Courses are held at undergraduate level, and at advanced level through the one-year Master's programme, Media Technology and Interaction Design.The discipline is also integrated into several academic programmes and is the main field of study in the undergraduate programme ICT, Media and Design. Research is multidisciplinary and combines design and innovation with perspectives from the Humanities and Social Sciences.The research focuses on three areas: interaction and media design; social interaction and cooperation with new media and information technology; and digital competence and digital cultures.These specialisations are integrated into domains such as interactive media, games, virtual environments, IT and learning, and IT and work.Areas of responsibility This post includes teaching and creating partnerships with the surrounding community.The possibility of conducting research is dependent on acquiring external financing.The successful applicant will be expected to teach on a range of independent courses in Media Technology and Informatics, as well as on different degree programmes, at undergraduate and advanced level.The focus of the courses is programming, web applications and media programming. We approach technology from a humanistic and social perspective and students are encouraged to discuss and reflect about their creations.Great importance is attached to combining theoretical knowledge and practical skills.In the practical modules, we work with the following programmes: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, Director, After Effects and Premiere, as well as development environments such as Java, PHP and MySQL.Duties also include course development and administration.
