Arbetsbeskrivning
The department of Accounting at Stockholm School of Economics has a strategy that rests on excellence in all three academic pillars: research, teaching and outreach.
Our faculty publishes regularly in top-tier journals, teaching is successfully conducted in bachelor, master, MBA and Executive Education programs, and outreach is successfully done in close collaboration with SSE External Relations, our Accounting Center of Excellence (ACE) companies and other organisations.
The person taking on the role as Lecturer with special administrative and outreach responsibilities will be an important ‘spider in the web’ primarily for the teaching and outreach pillars. You need a Ph D in accounting since you are expected to continually stay up-to-date on recent accounting research. But you are not expected to conduct any research of your own.
In the teaching and outreach pillars, there will be a great variety of tasks, some of strategic nature and some of more administrative nature. In the teaching pillar, you will work closely with the Head of Department, the Master Program Director and the faculty and students involved in the master program. This includes some teaching in the program, planning and organizing events for the master program, and administration of some of the master courses.
In the outreach pillar, you will work closely with the SSE External Relations, Director of ACE, the faculty, the ACE companies and other organisations to organize and deliver ACE events and to generate new ideas for collaboration between our department and the organisations.
In addition to having a PhD in accounting, international experience, experience of teaching bachelor and master students in accounting, and experience of outreach activities are strong merits. You also need to be able to continuously switch between working with more advanced and strategic tasks and tasks of a more administrative nature, since both will be part of the role. Since this is a new role at the department, you also need to be open to embark on a journey where the role is continuously developing to fit the needs of the department.

This is a time-limited employment for approximately 23 months (almost two years), with the possibility of it being prolonged and turned into a permanent employment.
