Electromobility is one of the main development areas within Volvo Group and was created to be in the forefront of environmental friendly transport solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow.
We are responsible for the transition from conventional powertrains to electromobility and to secure a stepwise implementation in different segments/regions. We develop and drives the electromobility product portfolio for Trucks & Buses as well as creating opportunities for all business areas within Volvo Group. Electromobility is a growing agile driven organization in place to shape the future!
The importance of electromobility is growing every day and a key component within the electrified powertrain is the Energy Storage System (ESS). At our section, we are accountable for the lifecycle management of the ESS, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase.


To the ESS section we now recruiting a legal and homologation leader to the ESS Strategy and Platform group.
We are responsible to develop complete ESS functionality realized by HW and SW solutions. You will be part of an agile and approachable organization with skilled product teams consisting of passionate people. What will you do?


You will be responsible to secure that we at ESS adhere to right legislations dependent on market and that our development teams have the right legal requirements. You will also be responsible to secure that we in ESS are designing and testing towards up-to-date standards.
Since this is a fast-growing technology the legislations development is growing in number and complexity, you need to keep yourself informed with the latest legislation. You need to lead internal reviews of new legislations proposal as well as take an active role in the certification process.
You will be the ESS expertise contributing to corporate reviews and involved discussions with external authorities.


Who are you? Are we a perfect match?


We believe that to be successful in this position, you are a pragmatic team player that loves to develop System designs with the customer in focus. Since the area is in an early phase, it is important that you are flexible and enjoy working in a changing environment. You have a broad knowledge and experience of both Electrical, Mechanical and functional development. We also believe that you feel comfortable working with external partners or authorities and together with other competencies in Volvo lobbing for legislation changes or improvements.
Master of Science in Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
documented experience from homologation with Li-ion batteries, identifies the regulatory compliance requirements.
confident in interpretation of legislation document and lobbing towards authorities.
8 years of experience from System & architecture within automotive systems.
4 years’ experience from design within Energy Storage Systems design
very good understanding of battery technologies/systems within the application of electric vehicles



It is considered a merit if you have experience within one or several of the following: Volvos DVP process, Agile Principals and methods.
