Legal & Compliance Counsel - Volvo Energy

Arbetsbeskrivning

We are looking for: Legal & Compliance Counsel

You will be given a unique opportunity to shape and drive the early development of Volvo Energy’s Legal & Compliance function together with the Head of Legal & Compliance and we will work together with the executive leadership team and the rest of our colleagues on solutions that will drive circularity, leading us to a sustainable future. With high speed and agility, Volvo Energy will support the Volvo Group to meet and exceed customers’ expectations on electrification, charging infrastructure solutions and second life batteries and thereby contribute to a society that we all want to live in.

Working at Volvo Energy is different

Welcome to a team unified by a compelling mission, great ideas, fun, diversity and inclusiveness. Our colleagues are - and will always be - the most important part of the story. Each colleague truly matters and plays an important role in our journey. Consequently, whilst demands are high, there is also plenty of opportunities to learn and grow - as a professional and as a person. We will be a fairly small team and therefore look for colleagues that thoroughly enjoy this entrepreneurial challenge, can hit the ground running and lead with passion, perform with purpose and transform with vision. Moreover, it will be essential you have a strong ability to form trustful relationships to effectively work with partners - inside and outside of the Volvo Group – in a cross-functional manner.

You will make a difference

If you are passionate about compliance and business ethics and you see yourself as a business enabler who would like the opportunity to also work with legal commercial matters, you are the right person to join our Legal & Compliance team at Volvo Energy.

In this senior position, you will lead and develop our compliance function and build strong compliance awareness and practice within the Volvo Energy organization. You will establish and drive a Volvo Energy Compliance Committee and be our representative in the Volvo Group Global Compliance Leadership Team. However, equally important, you will be a trusted advisor to our business colleagues in the day-to-day compliance related matters, enabling Volvo Energy’s road to success in a compliant manner.

In addition to your responsibilities heading the Volvo Energy Compliance function, you will also, together with the Head of Legal & Compliance, support our business with day-to-day legal matters (non-compliance related) and work closely with the executive leadership team and the rest of our colleagues to achieve the goals of Volvo Energy. This will ensure that you are an integral part of the entire spectra of our business and will provide you with the opportunity to work in a wide variety of legal matters, which you hopefully find both exciting and challenging.

As we are in start-up phase, your ideas will be valuable when we build a modern business-oriented Legal & Compliance function.

Making it a success for yourself and Volvo Energy

To succeed, we believe you are passionate about business ethics and compliance and have high integrity at the same time as you are business-orientated, pragmatic, with a positive spirit and an entrepreneurial mindset. As we at this stage will be a small Legal & Compliance team, it is of the utmost importance that you feel comfortable working independently and that you feel mandated to drive your areas of responsibilities.

We also believe that you have a strong ability to engage, lead and coach as this job is all about collaborations and leading the way in your field. For us, leading the way means that you should be a good listener, an effective communicator and that it is easy for you to connect with and engage other people.

You welcome this chance to work in a smart and modern way at a flexible workplace where we together are the catalysts to make our desired future happen. As our business area is new, you need to share our curiosity for new technologies, tools and ways-of-working and constantly want to take it to the next level. At the same time, you realize that breaking new ground also means mistakes will happen and nothing will be perfect. These are not frustrations but instead learning opportunities for you. You see the journey itself as the destination and whilst you are highly successful in your current position, you feel a strong desire to move further – you want to move from individual success to collective significance.

We can promise you great colleagues and some truly exciting opportunities. You will work in a global environment that is purpose-driven and value-based and that truly values diversity and inclusiveness. We will provide you with developmental prospects both professionally and personally. If our entrepreneurial spirit, adaptability and customer-focused mindset light your inner fire, we might be a great match!

Center of gravity for the organization and main location for this position will be Gothenburg, Sweden.
