Legal Counsel
NKT is looking for a lawyer with an international mindset and commercial perspective for the position as Legal Counsel. Perhaps are you working at law firm today, wanting to become an inhouse lawyer and is ready to take a new step in your career.
Your focus will be to provide business-oriented legal advisory services to top management, sales and procurement managers across the world and as such, you can look forward to work closely with the business. You will be based in Karlskrona, Sweden. For the first 6 months, you will be working from Karlskrona, Sweden, but thereafter you and your manager may agree upon a partly remote working basis.
Supercharge your career
You will primarily be dealing with supply and installation contracts in an international environment and it would be a merit if you have a background from the building, renewables or construction industry. Furthermore, this also includes tendering and negotiation processes of various tenders and contracts with customers, joint ventures, subcontractors and suppliers by advising, preparing, drafting and reviewing and/or negotiating complex contract documents and other relevant legal documentation and thus you need to have a significant interest for business and negotiations.
* You will participate in and be an active contributor to the project execution activities for our main project contracts in close co-operation with our project- and contract management teams
* You will have interactions with relevant subcontractors, thereby being a key stakeholder in legal matters related to project implementation vis-a-vis joint ventures, subcontractors and suppliers
* You will support and advise NKT on all legal matters connected to the above, such as contract law in general, corporate law and antitrust law
* You will also be responsible for providing legal advise and opinions on risk analysis
* You will from time to time conduct inhouse trainings on legal matters
* You can expect to travel in this position
You will become part of our Projects and Large Contract Department within Corporate Affairs. The Projects and Large Contract department team (“PLC”) consists of Senior Legal Counsels based at different locations in Europe (Denmark, Germany, Sweden, UK and the Netherlands) and now we would like to expand our team with also a Legal Counsel, who has been working with contract law and business law for at least a number of years. As part of PLC, you can also look forward to being part of Corporate Affairs, an engaged, skilled and multinational department of approximately 24 professionals divided into legal, compliance, enterprise risk and insurance.
What we expect
You have at least a five years of experience in contract law and business law from a larger law firm, or from a similar function in an international company. You are used to drive complex negotiations on your own. You enjoy working independently while being a team player, solution-orientated and able to work under time pressure. You should have solid analytical skills and the ability to manage and prioritize among multiple tasks and deadlines.
If you have been working with contract bases such as FIDIC, ABT 06, AB 04 and NSC 05 that would be a clear merit.
Further important qualifications are:
* Masters of Law degree
* Fluent in English
* Other language skills, like in German, Spanish, Polish or French, would be very welcomed
