Arbetsbeskrivning
For business area Sandvik Manufacturing and Machining Solutions (SMM), we’re now looking for a business-minded, experienced and socially confident Legal Counsel to strengthen our Legal Support team. A versatile position right in the center of our multinational business, where you get the chance to combine your interest in legal matters, business and collaboration in a truly global setting, and together with an amazing team of dedicated colleagues.
We have an exciting portfolio that holds some of the strongest brands in the market, and as a leading supplier in the global cutting tool industry, we’re proud to serve our customers with products and solutions for optimized productivity and profitability. In 2019, we had around 18 000 employees and a total revenue of 41 billion SEK.
The job - empowering the business to make confident decisions
Legal Support is responsible for enabling the business to take informed and balanced decisions across all legal disciplines worldwide, by providing qualitative legal advice and proactively assessing and mitigating key risks of our business. This requires accuracy, strong integrity and solid business understanding, as well as proficiency across many legal and compliance disciplines. Besides providing legal advice in relation to drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, an important part of your job is to ensure that we stay compliant with legal and regulatory requirements and applicable laws. This includes implementation of relevant policies and procedures, as well as management of legal training and legal risk management of agreements.
For this job, you report directly to the Head of Legal Support and are located at our headquarters in Stockholm. Occasional travel between Stockholm and our sites in Sweden is a natural part of your job, as is some international travel.
Your character - an experienced and decisive team player with a strong drive to succeed
We’re looking for someone with a Swedish Law degree (Juristexamen) and at least five years’ work experience from a reputable business law firm or within a corporate in-house legal organization with international matters. You have the legal experience needed to act independently and to find legally adequate solutions to various situations. You also have solid experience from independently negotiating a variety of commercial agreements (including sales/distribution, IT/technology and intellectual property) and a keen interest to further deepen your knowledge within legal areas of particular importance. Experience from competition law matters, M&A and digitalization are advantageous. As we operate both locally and in a global setting, you need excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, verbally and in writing.
We place great value on your personal qualities, characterized by your practical, analytical and decisive mindset, your strong integrity and the ability to get things done. You’re self-motivated and take initiatives, and as a true team player, you thrive on helping your team grow. To gain trust is key in your job, and you do this by building long-term relationships and by offering advice and guidance based on legal experience, sound judgment and thorough business understanding.
