Job Summary
M&A and Finance Legal Affairs is a group within Group Function Legal Affairs and Compliance. The M&A and Finance team supports Ericsson with acquisitions and divestments of companies and businesses, as well as minority investments and other similar activities.
The team also provides legal support to Ericsson in the areas of treasury funding, customer financing and other finance related activities. Ericsson is a truly global company and the M&A and Finance team works on M&A and finance transactions all over the world. This international context in which the team operates provides a great opportunity and environment for an ambitious, courageous and curious lawyer to grow and develop and become something more than a mere expert in local law.
We are now looking to hire an experienced M&A lawyer to the team. As part of the M&A legal team, the Legal Counsel will use his/her experience and competence in M&A, and good business understanding to independently provide our internal clients world-wide with high quality services.
Equally important is that the Legal Counsel, in providing guidance and advice, shows integrity and business acumen, and always puts the interests of the Ericsson Group as a whole first. The role also requires the ability to manage external legal resources and coordinate the legal work in various types of projects. The team and each of its members constantly strive to be our internal clients’ trusted advisors.
The Legal Counsel will report to the Head of M&A and Finance Legal Affairs. The position will be based in Kista, Stockholm.
Main Responsibilities/tasks:
• Work on, often complex, M&A transactions, including drafting and negotiating the transaction documentation.
• Provide high quality legal advice and make sure that clients requesting legal assistance are provided with good, timely and effective support.
• Support other units within Group Function Legal Affairs and Compliance in your area of expertise.
• Work with templates and other tools to improve the know-how, quality and effectiveness of M&A and Finance Legal Affairs.
Experience and qualifications:
At least 7 years’ experience working as an M&A lawyer at a law firm or other similar experience. In addition, the candidate should have the following competencies:
• Master of Laws or similar
• Fluency in English
• Experience working with international M&A transactions
• Good business knowledge/understanding
• Very good ability to handle and stand stress
• Good networking ability and social skills, as well as cultural awareness
• Very good negotiation skills
• Ability to handle complex matters proactively and independently
• High level of integrity
