Legal Counsel

We are now looking for a Legal Counsel specialized in data protection legislation (GDPR) and IT law that wants to join our fantastic Legal Team in Lund and contribute to our success journey forward!

Who is your future team?
The Legal Team consists of experienced legal advisors with a deep understanding of Axis' business. We work as an integral part of the daily business - with great impact and in close collaboration with our stakeholders. We support the Axis Group globally in cooperation with external legal advisors. Currently the Team includes ten legal counsels, senior legal counsels and trade compliance specialists. Our common goal is to support Axis' sustainable and successful growth through tailor-made, smart legal advice. The legal work can be divided into three main focus areas: (i) Axis' commercial contracts (including M&A), (ii) compliance programs, and (iii) partnerships and our IPR. Besides having an important purpose as a Legal Counsel specialized in data protection and IT law, you will also work with the greatest inhouse Legal Team there is. Yes, I might be a little biased as their manager, but I truly love working with this team that consist of positive, driven, professional and including team members that are looking forward to meeting you!

What you'll do here as a Legal Counsel:
As Legal Counsel you will work both independently and in close collaboration with your team members, the contract managers and other colleagues within the organization. The job will offer you a wide contact net and a variety of challenging work tasks on a cross-functional basis. The focus will be on advising on data protection legislation such as the GDPR, as well as general IT law. You will support different departments within the organization such as Information Systems / IT, R&D, Marketing, New Business and Sales.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will be to

* Drive the legal part of the compliance agenda on data handling and protection
* Be a member of the Axis GDPR Compliance Team
* Create and maintain relevant legal documentation and templates
* Be an active part of the Legal Team's digitalization process
* Create and communicate internal awareness education
* Independently negotiate and revise IT-contracts
* Report to Global Legal Director at HQ in Lund

Who are we looking for?
We believe you are a highly skilled, driven, analytical, structured, efficient and business oriented Legal Counsel that love working with people as well as data protection questions, commercial contracts, processes and systems. You have a strong ability to work independently as well as in teams with complex legal matters and you can prioritize your work tasks and see the big pictures. As a person you are a self-starter who is motivated by working in a high-pace international organization where you can deliver results together with your colleagues and when you can give high-class service to our stakeholders. We value that you have integrity and respect for others and that you enjoy being a team-player.

We'd love to hear that you have:

* A law degree (LL.M) from a Swedish University or equivalent
* 3-5 years' experience of a similar position as an associate at a law firm or inhouse
* Excellent knowledge of data protection legislation (GDPR) and experience of IT law and commercial contracts
* Good knowledge of the IT-/tech business sector
* Great communications skills and fluency in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing
