Legal Counsel

Introduction
Volvo Penta’s current Legal Function currently consists of two lawyers and an executive assistant in Sweden, one lawyer and a paralegal in the US. We now intend to expand with an additional lawyer in Sweden.

The Legal Counsel we are looking for will:
· Provide legal services and advice in the day-to-day business operations which will include a wide variety of matters, such as OEM sales, dealer/importer relationships, purchasing, product development, corporate and special projects
· Negotiate all kinds of contracts and draft contractual documentation
· Promote, through advice and training, the implementation of the Volvo Group’s Compliance Programmes
· Develop and update template agreements and other tools
· Provide advice and guidance on risks and opportunities associated with the pursuit of Volvo Penta’s business objectives
· Engage in joint legal projects with other Legal Counsels in the Volvo Group.
· Provide back office services to colleagues in other Business Areas involved in supporting Volvo Penta locally around the world

The Legal Counsel we are looking should have:
· A University degree in law
· A minimum of six years of experience from a law firm, as in-house Legal Counsel or equivalent
· Experience from cross-border legal work
· Solid problem solving abilities and a commercial interest
· Excellent command of English
· A professional attitude, high integrity, creativity and ability to work both independently and as a team player
