Your role
As legal counsel for Business Area Surveillance, you will work in an exciting, complex and global environment with challenging tasks and responsibilities. You will be responsible for handling legal questions/matters and to provide legal advice and support, including i.a.
*
drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
*
participating in larger projects including bid preparation
*
providing legal support and advice to business stakeholders regarding i.a. commercial law, disputes, company law, intellectual property matters, competition law and compliance
You will work with matters from all business units and functions in Surveillance, with a specific focus on the Traffic Management business unit. It is also the expectation that the new legal counsel will have a specific focus on developing Surveillance software offering.
This position requires travelling in Sweden and internationally.
We are first and foremost looking for a colleague to join us at our office in Göteborg. However, we are open to discuss other locations.

Required skills are:

A Swedish law degree
*
Several years of experience from working as a legal counsel in a company or as a commercial lawyer in a major law firm
*
Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, verbal and written
Desired skills:
*
Solid experience in a broad range of relevant areas of law with in depth knowledge and experience from software / IP licensing and/or competition law being an advantage
*
International experience
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

Business Area Surveillance designs, develops, markets and sells advanced radar, command and control, electronic warfare systems to the Swedish Armed Forces and other customers worldwide. In addition, Surveillance has a business called Traffic Management which provides products and systems for public safety, air traffic control and maritime traffic control.
Surveillance is the most international business area at Saab with operational presence in the US, UK, Australia, South Africa, the UAE, Finland, Denmark and Germany. In Sweden, Surveillance has operations in Göteborg, Järfälla, Huskvarna, Linköping, Halmstad, Luleå, Arboga and Karlskrona.
You will be part of a legal team consisting of five lawyers working within the function Surveillance Legal and you will report to the Head of Legal, Business Area Surveillance.
Surveillance Legal is a part of Surveillance management and also a part of Group Legal Affairs, which is headed by the General Counsel and is organized in different functions (one for each business area, Ethics and Compliance, Corporate Export Compliance, Market Network Management etc.) with twenty experienced legal counsels located on five different sites in Sweden and on several sites abroad.
