We are now looking for a legal counsel to join the Volvo CE Legal & Compliance team located in Göteborg, Sweden, to support in our continuous work to build our outstanding compliance culture at Volvo CE but also in the legal aspects of our sustainability journey. Role description
As a Legal Counsel responsible for Compliance and Sustainability, you will be responsible for designing procedures and ways of working to ensure an efficient implementation and follow-up of the Volvo Group’s compliance program, policies and protocols. You will act as Volvo CEs center of expertise within the legal aspects of compliance and environmental and social sustainability, including support in day-to-day compliance and sustainability legal matters. As a legal counsel you will also act as secretary to the Volvo CE Compliance Committee, involving supporting with expertise advice to and driving investigations of whistleblower reports. Further on, you will have an important role to provide trainings and supporting materials, as well as proactively identify and drive process improvement initiatives, within the compliance area.
Qualifications
You should have a Master of Law and a minimum of seven years solid legal experience from a law firm, as in-house legal counsel or equivalent. Strong professionalism, good judgement and high integrity, with strong critical thinking is necessary, combined with a true business interest and understanding. You need to have a strong focus on collaboration and relationship management and a willingness to drive change and continuous improvements. You have excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with high attention to details. A strategic mind and ability to think across multiple functional areas to turn abstract rules into hands-on solutions supporting business objectives is key. Excellent skills in effectively communicating both verbally and in writing to a diverse audience is important.
Knowledge and experience from the four Volvo Group compliance areas Anti-Trust & Competition, Sanction & Export Control, Data Protection and Anti-Corruption is of importance. Understanding of the sustainability regulatory and soft-law landscape is also relevant. Experience from investigations is an asset. High proficiency in written and spoken English is a must.
