Legal Counsel Group Trucks Purchasing

We are recruiting a Legal Counsel to the GTP Legal and Compliance Department to be located in Goteborg, Sweden. The Legal Counsel’s main focus will be to provide support to GTP’s operations and our colleagues within GTP in Europe. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Legal & Compliance within GTP and will be part of a global team located in Europe, North America and China. The work will require traveling from time to time, although not extensively.




Role Description

Provide proactive and business-oriented legal advice to the daily business operations in Europe, which will cover Automotive and Indirect Procurement (services…).
Draft and negotiate many different types of contracts as purchase agreements, licenses, lease, collaboration agreements…
Provide legal support with respect to disputes and threats involving suppliers or other external entities that impact GTP.
Provide support with respect to subjects that relate to the day-to-day GTP business areas, sometimes taking a lead role and other times acting more as a liaison between our business stakeholders and other subject matter experts, both inside and outside of the legal function. Subjects might include, by way of example only, intellectual property matters, supplier distress, insolvency and reorganization matters, customs, export control.
Prepare and conduct internal training on legal and compliance topics, with such offerings to be available to relevant internal business stakeholders.
Prepare and update template agreements, internal instructions, legal guidelines, memos…
Promote compliance with laws and regulations and internal legal processes.
Cooperate with legal counsel colleagues around the world on legal matters and projects.





Qualifications



We are looking for you who have a Master of Law within Swedish business law and a minimum of five years solid legal experience from a law firm, in-house legal counsel or equivalent. You will have strong personal credibility and integrity, a true business interest and a can-do mind-set, with high drive and energy and a readiness to perform multiple duties effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in negotiation and drafting of contracts together with a solid experience from contract and commercial law, product liability, bankruptcy and international purchasing related matters are important requirements. Some experience handling (either directly or through the retention of external legal counsel) complex commercial litigation is preferred.


Distinctive problem-solving abilities and communication skills are also pre-requisites for this position, together with cultural awareness and appreciation. You also need to be both a team player and be able to work individually with full own responsibility. Prior experience working with a multi-national organization is a merit.

Excellent English skills, both orally and in writing are essential. A good understanding of the automotive business is an advantage.
