Epidemic Sound’s music is heard in hundreds of millions of online videos daily, across millions of playlist streams, and in thousands of in-store locations. We are now looking for a Legal Counsel to join our talented Legal team.



How you will make an impact

As an in-house Legal Counsel at Epidemic Sound, you work in a specialized legal team that is tightly integrated with the business. You will have the opportunity to work broadly across legal fields in supporting our mission to soundtrack the world. The person we are looking for will in particular have a special focus on data protection matters as well as negotiating agreements relating to IT procurements and data protection. You will work closely with the rest of the organization, in particular with the tech department and our teams working with Operational Compliance, Cybersecurity and Procurement.



Key responsibilities:

- Providing data protection legal expertise, guidance and support to the organization

- Advising on legal risk management and developing effective risk mitigation strategies

- Together with other teams maintaining, creating and implementing practices around data protection and security

- Developing and performing awareness raising activities

- Negotiating IT procurement agreements and supporting the Procurement team in developing processes, checklists and guidelines to enable the business to itself manage certain legal matters



You will be part of the legal team based at our HQ in Stockholm and report to the team lead for the corporate governance and compliance team.

Who you are

In order for you to succeed in this role, we believe you are/have;

- highly skilled and professional with a university Master of Law degree,

- 4+ years experience of working with data protection matters and IT agreements at a reputable law firm or as an in-house legal counsel,

- strong organization, prioritization, communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills,

- fluent in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.

It’s considered an extra merit if you have had a similar role within the media or tech industry. There is also a wide range of other experiences and skills that can be meritorious, including experience with copyright law, corporate law, commercial contracts as well as other regulatory and compliance areas.
