As a Legal Counsel in the Ventures and Investments team, you will be part of a small team of three people within H&M Group Legal. You will primarily provide legal advice and be a strategic partner to the H&M CO:LAB department, supporting their growing portfolio of companies.
H&M CO:LAB invests minority shares in growing companies where the H&M Group can add strategic value. Investments are made in three areas: Sustainable fashion (companies that develop the technologies the industry needs to become fully circular and sustainable), New Retail (companies that explore consumers behavior and shopping in the future) and Enablers (tools and solutions that enable a better customer offering and can make us more efficient.
In addition, you will provide legal support to new and existing business ventures within the H&M Group. Our legal support consists of guiding new ventures when setting up their business – from idea until launch as well as initial business development.
This is a full-time temporary position for 1 year to cover a parental leave, based at the Head Office in Stockholm, Sweden.
Job Description
As Legal Counsel within the Ventures and Investments team, you will:
Provide legal and strategic advice relating to investments in an international setting.
Draft, evaluate and negotiate commercial agreements e.g. shareholders agreements, investment agreements.
Conduct due diligence.
Take an active part in decision-making related to legal and commercial matters, to ensure the best business result possible.
Provide advice and supporting documentation during all phases of a business relationship, from the initial contact through the operational phase and until termination.
Contribute to structure and internal knowledge development by creating templates, toolkits, best practice etc.
Be a team player, appreciate working in an agile matrix organization and collaborate with other departments.



Qualifications
A university law degree.
You have at least 5 years’ working experience at law firm and/or investment company or consultancy firm, preferably in an international setting.
Experience from working with investments in the US, UK or European markets is a requirement.
You have at least 3 years’ experience from working with M&A and Corporate Law.
You have great experience from drafting, evaluating and negotiating commercial agreements.
You are fluent in English both orally and in writing (professional English required).
