At Legal, you are part of a global legal team with the task of providing legal advice and support to the business units and other staff functions of Volvo Car Group within essentially all areas of business law. Our objectives are to support Volvo Car Group in achieving the business objectives, to protect corporate interests and to minimize the legal risks.

Legal forms part of Group Legal and Corporate Governance, which consists of four units: Legal, Intellectual Property, Compliance & Ethics Office and Corporate Strategy. Group Legal and Corporate Governance is led by Volvo Cars' General Counsel and employ approximately 45 people, whereof Legal consists of 26 people of which 10 are located in Gothenburg. Besides providing legal advice and drafting and negotiation support, Legal offers legal training and is engaged in developing polices, instructions and guidelines as well as agreement templates and other tools.

Your position will primarily cover the areas of banking, financing and capital markets, including documentation and negotiation in relation to e.g. external creditor arrangements, supply financing issues, capital market issues and compliance issues related thereto (i.e. contacts with Financial Service Authorities, including Finansinspektionen). In addition thereto you are obviously expected to handle general corporate legal matters. As a Legal Counsel within Volvo Car Group you will continuously develop your legal skills and have the possibility to grow as a professional within the company in a challenging and constantly changing international business environment.

Main responsibilities

* Providing legal support, primarily within the areas of financing, banking and capital markets
* Handling most matters independently and assuming the full responsibility in relevant parts of the business organisation
* Supporting more senior legal counsels in complex matters
* Providing internal legal training to the organisation and engaging in development of legal tools and templates and communication material

Required qualifications

* Master of law (Sw. Jur kand) with grades in the upper tier
* Minimum 5 years' of experiences in practising business law at a law firm and/or in-house
* Fluent in English and Swedish (written and spoken)
* Specialisation within bank & finance and capital markets is meritorious
