Legal M&A Counsel

Legal M&A Counsel

Arbetsbeskrivning

For Sandvik Machining Solutions, we’re now looking for a business-minded, experienced and socially confident Legal M&A Counsel to strengthen our team as we further accelerate our M&A agenda. This is a versatile position, with excellent opportunities for personal development, right in the center of our multinational business. On top of this, you get to work with experienced business developers and key strategic initiatives as we take part in shaping the new direction of Sandvik Group.

We have an exciting portfolio that holds some of the strongest brands in the market, and as a leading supplier in the global cutting tool industry, we’re proud to serve our customers with products and solutions for optimized productivity and profitability. In 2019, Sandvik Machining Solutions had around 18 000 employees and a total revenue of 41 billion SEK. If you’re as passionate as we are when it comes to development and strategic business drivers, and want to be part of the team executing on the strategic agenda, then you’re the one we need for this position!

The job
With an overall business strategy that aims for continuous development – both organically and through corporate acquisitions – our legal function plays a key role. We support the business in achieving objectives and driving growth by providing pragmatic legal advice and proactively assessing and mitigating risks. This requires accuracy, strong integrity and solid business understanding, as well as proficiency across many legal and compliance disciplines.

In this position, you get to practice your dedication to corporate and commercial law, as you contribute in strategic transactions, investments, joint ventures and various projects. You take responsibility and ambitiously drive your own assignments, and you challenge us to look at different perspectives and discuss alternative solutions.

You report directly to the Business Area General Counsel, with a dotted line to Head of Legal M&A, and you’re located in Stockholm. Travel between our sites in Sweden and Europe, and some other international travel, is normally included in your job.

Your background and character
We’re looking for someone with a Swedish Law degree (Jur. Kand) and at least seven years’ experience from working with the legal aspects of M&A - either from a reputable business law firm or within a corporate in-house legal organization. You have the legal experience needed to act independently and to find legally adequate solutions to various situations. Experience from competition law is also advantageous. As we act both locally and in a global setting, you need excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, verbally and in writing.

It’s key that you can gain trust both by building long-term personal relationships and offering advice and guidance based on legal experience, sound judgment and a thorough business understanding. We therefore place great value on your personal qualities, characterized by your practical, analytical and decisive mindset. You’re also a true team player with a strong drive to get things done.
