The Urban Mobility Systems research group at Chalmers University of Technology now has an open licentiate student position, that will give you the opportunity to work with leading researchers in the area:

The division and the research group
This position is advertised within the research group for Urban Mobility Systems within the division of Geology and Geotechnics at the department of Architecture and Civil Engineering (ACE). The group is focused on improving safety, efficiency, and sustainability of our future urban mobility systems, from an infrastructure centred perspective. This project will also be in collaboration with RISE and Tongji University in China. 

The research group has been engaging with a few industrial partners for cutting edge research and development in the area of smart urban mobility systems. The group has a very close collaborative relationship with many international research institutions in the United States, China, Singapore, and Australia.

Beside transport, the division of Geology and Geotechnics covers several major areas of applied sciences, such as drinking water, hydrogeology, remediation of contaminated land, engineering geology and geotechnical engineering. We have close contacts with neighbouring sciences, such as mathematics, statistics, electrical engineering and economics.

Major responsibilities
This position will be closely working with Professor Xiaobo Qu for testing and experiment design of connected and automated vehicles. Your work will mainly focus on:
- Experiment design of connected and automated vehicles
- Testing data analysis.

Contract terms
Full-time temporary employment. The position is limited to a maximum of two years. Subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability, the position can be extended for another two years as a PhD student.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, we would like you to have a Master's degree in engineering. You also need to have strong oral and written skills in English, programming skills of Python, and traffic simulation packages. Bachelor's degree in engineering is meritorious as well as experience in video making.
