Arbetsbeskrivning
We invite applicants for a licentiate position in a multidisciplinary project that focuses on the overall material characterization on the structural physical and chemical features to enable a deeper understanding of structure-processing-properties relationships. The position will be based at the Department of Industrial and Materials Science at Chalmers, working in close collaboration with KTH, Lund University and Tetra Pak.
Information about the PRODAC project
New eco-friendly materials and products are important ingredients when we strive for sustainable development. The PRODAC project is a multidisciplinary effort exploring new opportunities for thermoplastic materials from lignocellulose. Participating universities include KTH Royal Inst of Technology, Stockholm, Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg and Lund University. Funding is from VINNOVA and Tetra Pak, and an additional 1 post doctoral-student is funded at Lund University for the dewatering aspects of the lignocelluloses, that will be used as starting materials for the up scaling in continuous melt processing at Chalmers. The goals are new material concepts and knowledge towards better performance, new functionalities and improved eco-friendly attributes.
The position will be based at the The Division of Engineering Materials. The division is centered on the relationship between technological materials’ micro and nanostructure and their properties.
Major responsibilities
Only those who are or have been admitted to third-cycle studies may be employed as a licentiate student. Doctoral students may engage in teaching, research, and administration corresponding to a maximum of 20 % of a full-time position.
