Arbetsbeskrivning

Light Duty Diesel Test Engineer
Gothenburg
We can offer you a position with a successful company where you get the opportunity to be part of developing sustainable technologies for the future. We have two ways in which we will achieve this; one is by investing in our employees to ensure we have the best talent on the market, the other is by investing in our products to allow us to differentiate ourselves from our competitors.
In our European Technology Centre based in Gothenburg, we develop advanced catalytic solutions for both light- and heavy-duty diesel engines. In Gothenburg we are currently around 60 people working with testing, development, and customer support for the European market. At our disposal we have 9 state of the art engine test cells, 3 SCAT-rigs and workshops for measurement instruments and engine rigging.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Test Engineer to join our team, to work both independently and with competent and highly skilled colleagues. You will perform and develop experiments in an engine test cell according to agreed instructions, available routines and agreed quality levels. Additionally, help develop new and better instructions, routines, and other documentation to ensure continuously improved quality and efficiency.

Key responsibilities
Overall responsibility for all steps of the testing process for assigned experimental plan projects
Quickly identify any equipment problems, initiate root cause analysis, and organize support in order to find both short- and long-term solutions
Actively keep up to date with and contribute to all department EHS, 5S and quality work, including taking the coordination lead in at least one assigned area
Contribute towards continuously improved procedures and work instructions and help the department to comply with IATF 16949 quality requirements
Working evening shift every 6th week
Responsible for one or two side projects related to the testing processes, this is also a great opportunity to grow and develop your skills within other areas of expertise

Background and skills
Bachelor (BSc) degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or equivalent professional experience
Previous hands-on experience of diesel engines and/or engine test cell work is considered a merit
Good computer skills, preferably including working with computerized control and measuring systems
Good English written and spoken communication skills. Swedish language skills help but are not an absolute requirement for the job
Team player working both individual and, in a group, contributing to goal, policy and standards
A genuine technical, engine and measurement environment interest with plenty of drive to independently understand, troubleshoot and continuously improve

Personal qualities
With these skills we believe that you will contribute to a winning atmosphere and a team with strong ambitions. You are self-motivated and perform your work with integrity and handle change efficiently as well as contribute to new ideas. You are hands-on and creative with your upcoming day-to-day tasks. You are good at collaborating with customers and colleagues to establish relationships and enjoy working in an international environment. You share JM’s core value of Protecting the People and the Planet, which includes promoting wellbeing for people both inside and outside of work.
