Job Summary

If so, the Line Solution Manager – New Food Fermentation may be the right position for you.
You will be part of the global team that works with the entrepreneurial zeal, pace and independence to develop processing solutions for large scale alternative protein manufacturing using fermentation and other novel technologies. This offers an opportunity not just to be part of a new business being set up, but to also be part of a larger purpose – the quest to find ways to produce foods with new methods that will allow us to maximize existing resources on our planet in feeding the ever-growing population in a sustainable manner.
The position is permanent and based in Lund, Sweden.
What you will do
As Line Solution Manager, you will be a key member in the New Food Fermentation program within Tetra Pak where you will apply your knowledge to define the best possible line configuration for production scale up in the areas of fermentation and cell culturing for novel food production. This will require application of both technical and commercial acumen to define a line that delivers on technical specifications and is built with industrial and commercial considerations – scale, energy, cost, competitiveness and such. You will collaborate with Tetra Pak’s network of experts drawn from different disciplines: food technology, process engineering, automation, product management, sustainability, safety, sales and business development across different business sectors e.g. Dairy, Food, Beverages, Ice cream, Powder and Cheese. You will operate in an empowering environment with determination to contribute to the growth of this business. In this position you will report to the Centre of Expertise Manager, Plant Based Food Solutions. You can expect to travel up to 25-35% of your working time.
You will focus on
Global responsibility for development and deployment of assigned portfolio of best practice lines / processing solutions.
Responsibility for defining the technical and commercial value proposition of the developed line solutions – in terms of line performance parameters, commercial aspects, competitiveness considerations.
Applying technical and commercial domain expertise to deliver application support internally to the Sales and Project Engineering teams and externally to Customer teams to help grow the business in line with the company strategy.
Developing and maintaining hyperawareness of developments in the alt protein industry, customer and competitive actions and then translate those into improvements and new developments in our technical solutions so as to drive continuous competitive advantage.
Continuously monitoring the performance of deployed solutions through internal tests, customer site data analysis and leveraging other information sources. Then incorporating these data and interpretations in the next gen solution development.

We believe you have
Your educational background in biotechnology / biochemical engineering or equivalent with practical industrial biomanufacturing experience. Given the high focus on development, a Master’s degree or PhD is desirable, but not essential. Experience working with different vector systems, and in scale up from lab to a commercial scale will be a significant advantage. A 7-10 years’ work experience in biomanufacturing process will be required. Additional experience within food industry / food technology and development will be an advantage. As our customers and contacts are from all over the world, fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
We are looking for a highly self-motivated person. You have extensive knowledge from biotechnology and have been part of developing and designing lines of precision fermentation and/or biomass fermentation. The successful candidate is a skilled communicator and has a structured and service minded approach. You are a true team player and feel comfortable in communicating and networking with colleagues throughout a global organization.
