Arbetsbeskrivning
Volvo Construction Equipment (VCE), a division of Volvo Group, is one of the world's largest manufacturers of construction equipment such as wheel loaders, haulers, excavators, road machinery, and compact machines. We in the Wheel Loader organization within VCE are here to make a difference and want to offer sustainable transport & infrastructure solutions. Motived by the journey towards electromobility, Volvo Construction Equipment sees an increased need for testing future hydraulic systems. A requirement for these rigs is to allow the testing of all product range of wheel loaders’ hydraulic actuation systems, which requires the simulation and control of steady state and dynamic loads over the test object.
Suitable background
Knowledge in modelling and simulation of mechanical and hydraulic systems
Knowledge in hardware-in-the-loop test rigs is a merit
Description of thesis work
The main task in this project is to:
Design and evaluate the simulation part of the hardware-in-the-loop test rig for hydraulic systems of wheel loaders.
It involves:
Modeling and simulation of the work functions structure of wheel loaders,
Experimental verification of the model in a real machine,
Modeling of the hydraulic system for load generation and of a test object,
Design the software structure of the load simulation and control system.
