Log Specialist, Infrastructure & IT Operations

Your future team
You will be part of a technical team within the Infrastructure & IT Operations department and together we are responsible for Axis global infrastructure. Your role and responsibility within the team will be ownership of the Log platform. Your teammates will look for your support, advise and expertise when it comes to log management. You will also work closely to the IT SOC and data analysist as well as stakeholders around the Axis organization. In our department we are approx. 60 highly skilled technicians working with the latest technology to enable innovation and at the same provide high level of security. Together with your colleagues you will deliver a highly secure, available & reliable log management that can add value, today, tomorrow and in the future.

What will you do here?
In the role as Log Specialist, you will take on the responsibility of log pipeline management and ensure data sources are aligned and compliant with a common internal information model. You need to partner with your coworkers in the infrastructure teams to manage existing log sources & ingest new sources. But you will also be in close contact with other stakeholders within Axis when it comes to ingestion & extraction of log data. This mean that you need to design, build and scale data pipelines into measurable and tangible information and create and uphold log policies.

You will create and execute a detailed logging roadmap and vision based on stakeholder requirements, internal needs from the infrastructure teams and how the development in this technology area changes.

Important is that you will provide mentorship to other engineers within the organization and provider advise to your stakeholders.

Who are you?
We think you have a couple of years' experiences in a similar role where you have gained the basic understanding of log and log management.

To succeed in this role, you will need to effectively combine technical competence with communication and problem-solving skills. Collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders is crucial to be successful in the role.

We are looking for someone who is curious, willing to learn and pick up new technical skills. The person should be service-minded and being able to understand how business requirements are turned into log solutions.

We Believe You Will Need some of the skills below:

* Log collection platform administration (ElasticSearch, Datadog)
* Log source configuration and monitoring
* Strong communication and documentation experience
* Demonstrated experience with modern Extract Transform Load (ETL) experience (i.e. LogStash, Kafka)
