What we offer
Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to work as a Logistics Engineer within the Supplier Logistics Assurance (SLA) team EMEA. The SLA team is part of Supply Chain Management at Volvo Cars and are responsible for supplier logistics readiness setup of suppliers in the EMEA region. SLA plays a large role in the logistics implementation of new car programs. SLA covers both new suppliers and flows in car projects, as well as supplier relocations.
We are now looking for a new team member to strengthen our efforts to launch our upcoming car projects in a quality assured way. The position is located in Gothenburg but travelling is required.
Your key tasks
As Logistics Engineer in the SLA team, you will work closely with our suppliers and several different functions within Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Supplier Quality Management and Manufacturing.
You will monitor and secure supplier on-boarding activities, which includes communication flow (EDI) and transport routes between suppliers and the production units. You will also ensure suppliers awareness of Volvo Cars global logistics requirements and readiness for delivery to all Volvo Cars plants globally.
You will perform logistics readiness review visits on supplier sites and drive and support continuous improvement activities within SLA globally.
You will support and participate in projects within Supply Chain Management and Volvo Cars production units.
Further you will represent and drive Volvo Cars interests in supply chain assurance issues and take appropriate decisions to secure the supply chain flow from suppliers.
More responsibilities include performing logistics audits on site at suppliers, MMOG/LE, and supporting introductions of new supplier in supplier relocation processes. Moreover, you will support supplier development through cooperation with relevant stakeholders.
You and your skills
To be successful, you need to have experiences from Logistics and/or Production. You need to have an understanding for business needs, supply chain processes, EDI, material handling, packaging and you have a relevant academic degree, preferable within the logistics area.
International experience within the logistics field and experience between supplier and productions plants is an advantage. Since you will work in different projects, project leader competence will help you. It is also an advantage to have audit experience/competence.
The right candidate is a problem solver with a can-do mentality. We expect you also to have good knowledge in the office package, especially Excel. Experience of Power BI and SharePoint is an advantage.
Communication and interpersonal skills, in line with Volvo Cars core competencies: drives results, builds trust, collaborates and self-development are key in this role. You are fluent in English (written and verbal) and Swedish is an advantage.
