Role Description


As a logistics engineer you are responsible for developing and improving the logistics flows in the factory. You work closely with other engineers, production leaders and operators in the area. "Lean" thinking is the foundation of your work where you are committed and driven to make this factory even better. Continuous improvements are a part of the daily work as well as making root cause analysis for the issues we face.
Some of your main tasks are to secure the introduction of product updates, create conditions for new parts, set up the material flow, investigate equipment needed and prepare material facades. You will be deeply involved in IT systems for analytics and preparation. Working together to secure the best safety, ergonomics, quality, and efficiency are key to our success.


The position requires excellent communication skills as we strive to give our colleagues and internal customers the best support possible and enjoy the journey working together towards the same goals. You will create an extensive network and collaborate with internal and external customers and suppliers. Volvo Trucks is present in all corners of the world so you will collaborate with colleagues in many countries to create future solutions.


What we are looking for


An analytic person with a strong interest in logistics development. You are ambitious and can work independently and take your own initiative as well as collaborating with others in a cross-functional team. Slow-paced environments make you bored and you enjoy connecting with many different people during the day.
You have excellent computer skills and enjoy learning new IT systems and figure out how they are all connected. Jumping to conclusions is just a waste of time you think, but when you are certain, you jump directly into action.


Qualifications
Solution oriented with a holistic view
Production and/or in-plant Logistics experience
Supply chain knowledge
Excellent computer and Excel skills
Business Analyst competence within e.g. Qlik, MS Power BI/Automate and SQL is a great advantage
Fluent in both Swedish and English
Education in Engineering/Logistics is preferable
Competence within systems as MACS, Gilm, Sprint is an advantage
