Are you ready to ignite innovation and shape the future of the global drilling industry? We are currently seeking an analytical and innovative System Architect with strong skills in drilling application that will play a crucial role in optimizing the complete drill system integrated into our rigs.

The Surface division R&D organization is growing fast and the technology is shifting. We need to make sure that we have a healthy and sustainable organization that supports Epiroc’s exciting journey to accelerate the transformation of our industry.
This role is a part of a new team added to ensure our transition towards digitalization, automation, and CO2 reduction.
Your mission
As System Architect Drilling Application, you will focus on optimizing the overall characteristics of the complete drill system integrated on surface drill-rigs developed in Orebro. This includes identifying key characteristic for different applications and provide optimal solutions. You will be an important liaison between practical implementation and the academic world, suppliers and competitors to find cutting-edge solutions in architecture.
Providing solid support to engineers in different projects and activities, is a crucial aspect of your responsibilities, guiding them in the implementation of architecture. As the natural starting point for high-level inquiries in the drilling system area, you will play an integral role in providing essential support for organizational planning and decision-making throughout the division.
Also included in your mission is the Global Design Area Responsible (DAR) for Rock drilling system. As DAR you will represent the Surface Division in Epiroc rock drilling forums, monitor development of drill string related components and support Product Centers world-wide in drilling application related matters.
Your duties extend to actively supporting the development of methodologies and design guidelines, as well as contributing to the development of roadmaps and strategies specifically tailored to your area of the platforms. Staying up to date with technological advancements and trends within your domain is expected.
Your profile
To thrive in this role, you need to have a strong technical background with practical knowledge and experience in drilling applications. You have previous experience of system design and dynamic behaviors, including system design.
You need a solid understanding of drill rigs, their applications and performance including application knowledge within Top hammer (TH), Down the hole (DTH) and COPROD drilling. Understanding of different rock quality in relation to our drilling system will also be important. Academic achievements in system architecture or engineering are a plus.
Success in this role requires analytical thinking, proactive decision-making, and the ability to make rational decisions based on limited information. A holistic mindset, considering both customer and business perspectives, is crucial. If you enjoy working in an innovative and collaborative environment, this role is for you.
Location and travel
This position is located in Örebro, Sweden. Some travelling may be required connected to the role of Global DAR.
