About AstraZeneca
AstraZeneca is a global, science-led, patient-centred biopharmaceutical company that focuses on discovering, developing, and commercialising prescription medicines for some of the world's most serious diseases. But we're more than one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies. At AstraZeneca, we're dedicated to being a Great Place to Work, where you are empowered to push the boundaries of science and fuel your entrepreneurial spirit. There's no better place to make a difference to medicine, patients and society.
About the Opportunity
In this local graduate programme, you will be working at Sweden Operations, AstraZeneca’s "production heart" in Södertälje, which is our largest manufacturing site. The production here has an influential role in development and delivery of products all over the world. This is your opportunity to work on real, life-saving projects right from the beginning, supported by some of the best colleagues the industry has to offer.
We thrive in a high-tech and LEAN-based environment where we put a high value on collaboration and creatively effective solutions. At AstraZeneca, health is our business and our contribution to society. How we operate supports sustainable ecosystems for healthcare that benefit people and our planet through science-based innovation. Our two sites are located close to urban environments as well as the waterfront and forests. Why not start the day in our gym or end the day with your colleagues in a spinning class?
Starting in September 2022, the LUMINI Graduate Programme lasts 2 years, consisting of 3 rotations in Södertälje and includes permanent employment. These rotations will provide you with insight into our world and the chance to influence the direction in which we're moving. Your rotations will be decided based on your own development plan, combined with the organisation’s strategic business needs.
Sweden Operations consists of multiple PETs (Process Execution Teams) and various support functions. Here are examples of some of the areas where you could be working:
Production - where we produce and package pharmaceuticals.
Project Management – driving investment projects as well as projects for the production of new products.
Operational Excellence – is where you find our LEAN specialists, responsible for the constant development and streamlining of processes and ways of working.
Quality – securing the quality of our pharmaceuticals and production chains.
Sourcing & Supply – Overarching responsibility over procurement, production planning and the flow of material in and out from our site.

You will gain an invaluable blend of on-the-job experience and coaching. You’ll enjoy guidance and advice from a huge support network, including a dedicated programme manager, as well as a mentor, if you desire. We’ll also encourage you to identify and build collaborative relationships with specialists and leaders across our organisation. Together, we’ll help accelerate your development and knowledge.
