The M&A team at Sandvik Coromant is responsible for driving the inorganic growth agenda for the division. As this is a central part of our future growth ambitions, we’re now looking to strengthen the team with an experienced M&A professional who wants to influence our way forward.
Let’s talk about the job
In this position, you’re responsible for managing a set of M&A Themes in which you will identify and build relationships with attractive acquisition targets, assuring we have a healthy deal pipeline and a continuous flow of transaction projects. The role also involves exploring and defining new themes to support our inorganic growth ambitions as well as our division’s strategy. You do this by working closely with our strategy team, executive management and subject matter experts from various line functions. You also ensure alignment with the strategy throughout the transaction projects, and you guide and support the deal team to a successful transactions and clear post-transaction value creation and integration plan.


Natural activities in this role:
Managing a set of approved M&A Themes, assuring we have a deal pipeline enabling a continuous flow of transaction projects
Sourcing and networking with acquisition targets, assuring strategic fit with the M&A Theme and our enterprise strategy, ultimately convincing targets to sell their company
Overseeing transaction projects, supporting the deal team with e.g. strategy alignment and negotiation tactics
Networking with 3rd party advisors to support lead nurturing
Occasionally project manage transactions from pre-transaction, non-binding offer, due diligence, signing to closing followed by handover to value creation and integration team
Continuously challenging our ways of working with M&A’s by benchmarking us towards external best-practices and own lessons learned, with the ambition to make us a world-class M&A team

You’re part of a team of M&A Analysts and Associates, M&A Managers, Integration Management Professionals and other M&A Directors. You report to the VP of M&A.


The location for this position is flexible, but preferably in Västberga or Sandviken, and during normal circumstances, international travel is a natural part of the job.
What about you?
We’re looking for someone with an MSc or a Master’s in Economics or Business Administration. You have approximately ten years of relevant professional experience, and you have managed or been involved in a substantial amount of M&A transactions. You probably have a background from a similar role in an international industrial company, from an M&A boutique, management consulting, private equity or investment banking. You have worked with deal sourcing and are used to networking with senior executives and business owners, assuring buy-in to your strategy and convincing business owners to sell their business. Experience from the manufacturing industry is highly beneficial. Of course, you’re skilled in the common tools of Office 365, while knowledge of Power BI is a plus. As we act on the global stage, you need excellent skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
Your analytical skills, entrepreneurial mindset and change management experience enables you to prioritize and respond well to changing demands from multiple sources, and you have a strong desire to learn and grow in your role and inspire continuous improvements. With your outstanding people skills, you easily interact and build networks with stakeholders at all levels, and as a team player, you bring out the best in everyone, and thereby help us reach new levels! In addition, you’re a good communicator capable of presenting complex information in a concatenated and pedagogical way, and you communicate effectively with executive and senior management.
